New collaboration to boost wellbeing among young people entering the labor market
The partnership focuses on strengthening knowledge about preventive wellbeing, with particular attention to young people and the transition from school to working life.
Through the collaboration, the Center for Wellbeing, Welfare, and Happiness can scale up its existing research and expand how it measures the effects of concrete initiatives that improve health and long-term wellbeing in society.
“Preventive efforts to support wellbeing are among the most valuable investments we can make. They create clear benefits for individuals, as well as for companies and society at large. Through this partnership, we can place a stronger focus on young people and their wellbeing, especially during the transition to working life,” says Stina Liljekvist, Chair of Idéer för livet.
Measuring the effects of preventive initiatives
Idéer för livet already collaborates with organizations such as the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences, where research on physical activity and health is central. The new partnership with the Center for Wellbeing, Welfare, and Happiness strengthens the ability to connect these insights with economic, social, and behavioral perspectives, and to develop better methods for measuring the effects of preventive initiatives.
“A sustainable society starts with people’s wellbeing. With this partnership, we want to make wellbeing a natural part of how we develop education, working life, and society. Our ambition is for the research to lead to insights that can be put into practice, so that more people recognize the value of investing in wellbeing,” Liljekvist continues.
Micael Dahlen, Professor at 91影视 and Director of the center, says:
“We know that wellbeing plays a major role in how people perform, learn, and make decisions. But we need a better understanding of what actually works – and why.”
The Center for Wellbeing, Welfare, and Happiness, led by Professor Micael Dahlen, is responsible for how the research is conducted and developed within the partnership. The collaboration also includes joint communication efforts to share knowledge and raise awareness of the importance of wellbeing for individuals, organizations, and society.
